2nd Avenue Subway Stop

Here’s a column from the 2nd Avenue subway station in the East Village.

It’s mainly an aniseptic blue now.  The color palette reminds me a bit of a hospital.

I’d love to have been around when it was all bright red, but judging from the number of layers, I would have had to have been born in the ’50s!

I’d also like to meet the guy that waited so long for a train to come that he had enough time to excavate all that enamel paint!
